Lillafüred Chairlift
What you’ll see
The route unveils protected natural gems of the Bükk Mountains: shifting shades of beech and pine, dramatic valley lines, and postcard views back to Lake Hámori and the Palace Hotel.
The ride, at a glance

Length: ~1,080 m
Elevation change: ~263 m

Bring your wheels (if you like)
Bicycles are welcome on the chairlift, and there’s a steep downhill ride back to Lillafüred for confident riders. You’ll also find a scooter trail and the signposted Oxygen hiking trail if you prefer to descend on foot.
Why it’s special
Quiet, nature-first experience—no engine roar, just wind and birdsong
Fast access to viewpoints without a strenuous climb
Works beautifully as part of a half-day around Lillafüred (lake walk + chairlift + coffee)
Tips for an easy day
Footwear: trainers or light hikers are perfect.
Weather: it can feel cooler and breezier on the chair—pack a light layer.
Families: kids usually love the ride; keep phones/cameras secured.
Cyclists: brakes in top shape, please—the descent is sharp in places.
